The Pickup Location Model is divided into two sub-models:
- Grocery Orders - Same as Last Mile Delivery model
- Pickup Location Model
The size of Walmart's physical stores mean that they can only be built in certain areas. To mitigate such location-related challenges, Walmart has collaborated with Pickup Location to manage picking, packing, and transportation to third-party pickup sites for consumer pickup.
A Pickup Location is a business model in which Walmart and the Pickup Location partner run stores together. Regardless of the total number of orders, WMC pays a fixed upkeep fee for the store operation. Every year, this partnership agreement varies, and Walmart has various agreements with each store.
In this model, the majority of the data is pulled from predefined master tables. Each store has a unique store ID and a dedicated business workflow.
There is no concept of orders or invoice aggregation. This model is based on agreements with predefined values/fees. As a result, only the Invoice Business Workflow is included in this model.
