Peers are network entities that maintain a ledger and run chain code containers to perform read/write operations to the ledger. Peers are owned and maintained by members.

Types of Peers

  • Active Peers - Peers in an active state activated by the admin team are Active Peers. Use these peers to connect to a particular database.

  • Requested Peers - Peer in a Pending state for approval from the admin team are called Requested Peers. Admin team needs to approve the requested peers to use them.

Types of Tenancy

  • Shared Tenancy - In this case, multiple members share a single resource. This type of network is low-cost.

  • Dedicated Tenancy - In this case, a network is formed using a single resource. However, this type of network is costly as compared to Shared Tenancy.
