Assign a User to your Database

  1. Sign in to the DL Unify Portal.

  1. Select the Element DB tile from the DL Unify Dashboard and enter the Element Secret.

  1. Manage Database is the default page upon Signing in.

  1. On the Users page, the admin user has the option to
  • Create various users.
  • View user details.
  • Edit user details.
  • Delete users.
  1. To create a new user, click on the +Users button on the top right-hand side of the page.

  1. The admin user receives a pop-up with details like username, the name of the database, and the access level of the user.

Note:

Since the admin user is logged in as the Element admin, the available user roles are DB_ADMIN, DDL, DML_WRITE, and DML_READ.

  1. Click on the Add button to add the new user to the database.

  1. A pop-up appears with the Confirm and Cancel buttons. Select Confirm to assign the new user to the database.

  1. After creating a new user, a pop-up appears with the user’s username and Password.

  1. To view the newly created user, click on the Manage Databases Page.

  2. Click on the database associated with the new user. The new user is visible in the Users section.

  1. The admin user can choose to change the user access from the Users section of the selected database.

  1. Click on the dropdown list in the Role column and select the user's access level. Next, A confirmation pop-up appears with the Cancel and Ok buttons. Select the Ok button to confirm the change of access.

  1. The admin user can also edit user access from the Users page.

  2. Select the required user. Click on the pen-like icon in the Actions column.

  1. A pop-up box appears with the user details table. Click on the dropdown list in the Role column and select the access level.

  1. Next, A pop-up appears with the Cancel and Ok buttons. Select the Ok button to confirm the access change. You can view the Success message box at the bottom left of the screen after successful changes.

Delete Users

  1. Select the required user. Click on the delete icon in the Actions column.

  1. A pop-up appears with the Cancel and Ok buttons.
  2. Click on the Ok button to delete the database, or click on the Cancel button to withdraw the operation.
